Philosophy

Saddlechariots have no class, no race, no religion. Equestrianism in England may be a rural middle class activity but horses form a vital part of the global urban working class heritage. Saddlechariots are a genuinely inclusive activity. I build chariots for ponies and people, wherever they are.

Ponies tends to be a pretty elastic term and I include anything from 8 to 18hh, mules, donkeys, onagers, zebras and any other equids I haven't mentioned.

People basically includes people. I don't do "saddlechariots for the disabled" because people are still people and as such I will build saddlechariots for them. My back is dodgy, knees, dead iffy, I wreck shoes because I walk so badly, I am overweight and unfit. I didn't build the first saddlechariot for the disabled, I built it for me.

Any saddlechariot sports that develop will allow any modifications necessary to the comfort or safety of the driver, and the comfort and safety of the pony. And if some super fit, ultra agile guy with a brilliant high performance horse thinks this gives someone with cerebral palsy and a scruffy pony, an unfair advantage..... tough.

Saddlechariot sports will not discriminate on the basis of class or breeding. The battlefield gravestones of the 1st War record endless examples of "A private in ****** regiment, known only to God." The countless horses resting in the same mud don't even get gravestones. But their deaths were no less worthwhile than the officers recorded in Debretts with their horses whose ancestry was recorded by Wetherby's. Saddlechariot sports will require the same pedigree qualifications required of the men and horses who have died in their thousands in the wars so beloved by our rulers....none at all.

Game theory divides games into zero sum and non zero sum games. Zero sum is the traditional winner/loser sport. What I win, you lose. Non zero sum says we can all win, and that includes our ponies. Skateboarding, BMX, Freestyle MotoX, Snow Boarding and the ancestor of them all Surfing are non zero sum. Everyone wins as everyone gets better. They stretch what you can do with unlimited horizons rather than set you against each other in a restricted space/rule set.

Saddlechariots sports will be non zero sum.
